Dry Grass Patches: Check Sprinkler Coverage First

A dry patch beside green grass is worth investigating before you add time to every sprinkler zone. The problem may be coverage, soil, turf health, or a combination.

Watch the affected zone

Look for a clogged nozzle, a head below the grass, or spray blocked by plants. Water may be reaching the sidewalk instead of the dry area. Weak spray can also point to a pressure problem or leak.

Check the ground as well

If coverage looks even, the lawn may need attention beyond sprinkler repair. USU Extension’s lawn-care resources cover turf and soil questions. We focus on checking the irrigation equipment and schedule.

Fix the cause, then review the timer

We can check the zone, repair damaged parts, and help with seasonal settings. See head repairs and controller service.
